Lawn Envy from a Brooklyn Apartment

We have lovely views but no balcony or outdoor space to call our own, so we have a jungle of indoor plants. We tried growing pretty moss, but that would always die suddenly. My father gave us grass seeds that will grow anywhere, and so far so good.
Mr. Beans is supervising the "mowing".

Great idea - and so pretty! Do the cats eat it? Mine love ordinary grass, but not the special kind for cats.....

Rachel - no, they don't eat the grass, but they eat plenty of our other plants! We wish they would eat the grass - would help with the mowing.

I was so struck by the difference between your life in Brooklyn and mine up on the Welsh hills that I had to say hello. Isn't it amazing how strong the urge is to grow things?

Hi Elizabeth - yes, the urge to grow is very strong with us. Our apartment is filled with plants, many the sons and daughters of the mature ones. But with you being in lovely Wales, I'm guessing this is a case of "the grass is always greener" only going one way!
